If you need your coffee stain treated, we can definitely lighten and sometimes remove the stain completely, depending on what chemical you have used on it prior to us getting there. All household products will diminish the effectiveness of our professional grade products. Just like washing clothes that have certain stains on them in certain water temperatures will set the stain, so will using the wrong pH chemicals on coffee stains. The pH will alter just enough to make our chemical not as effective as it could be. Coffee has Tannin in it and Tannin is in fact a dye. So a coffee stain on the carpet is more like a red stain, in that the dye of the coffee just like the red Kool-Aid has "dyed" the fiber.
The good news is that if you have not attempted to get the carpet coffee stain out yourself, our products for coffee attempt to "reverse" the Tannin and either lighten the coffee stain on the carpet or completely remove it. Of course we cannot guarantee anything when it comes to dye. What should you do if you spill coffee? Well, blot up as much as possible and don't put anything on it. Give us a call.
