If you need your area rug cleaned, we complete the cleaning for most area rugs on-site. Our area rug cleaning is gentle on your rug's natural fibers but still removes ground-in dirt. They won't be over wet or turn brown from excess moisture. As with any natural fiber, care must be taken to use the proper pH detergents on wool rugs. The wrong pH can damage the fibers and turn them into other colors or sometimes bleach. At DFW Steam Cleaning, we use the proper pH detergents and will not damage your rugs. We also use a high-speed air mover while we clean to give the wool rug a jump-start on drying. Wool rugs can finally be protected with Fiber Protection that is designed especially for wool rugs. It's a special formulation that will bond to the natural fiber of the wool and give protection against spills.
We can clean many rugs in your home. Material, the thickness of the rug, and subfloor all come into play to make a determination if your area rug can be cleaned in your home or if it has to go to the plant. A rug's value also comes into the formula as well. If we can safely clean your rug onsite, we will do so. If not, then the immersion cleaning at the plant will be an option for you.
First of all remove all debris and dirt left on the carpet/rug by vacuuming, making use of the brush attachment to remove hairs from pets. After performing a color test, we mix in our organic shampoos which are used to gently wash the rug along with a brush.
We then rinse the rug and put it in a giant centrifuge to spin dry then move it to the drying platform then finally, we vacuum/brush the rug to revive any compacted or squished together fibers, which were tangled by the cleaning process. The job is tough, but we make it seem easy.
